Development activity in Fishermans Bend is ramping up, with a number of permit approvals, construction commencements and completions materialising, particularly in the Montague Precinct.

Reflecting the vision and sustainability objectives of the Fishermans Bend Framework, development activity in Montague Street benefits directly from convenient access to the existing route 109 and 96 trams, South Melbourne Primary School and Kirrip Park, adding new residents and workers to this growing local community.

To support the needs of the evolving Fishermans Bend community, a full-line supermarket is currently under construction on the corner of Plummer and Graham Street in the Wirraway Precinct.

On the adjacent corner, Port Melbourne Secondary College (formerly Fishermans Bend Secondary School) is nearing completion, with the new school set to open in time for term one 2022, with a capacity for 1,100 students.

Integrated with JL Murphy Reserve and the future proposed tram route along Plummer Street, the addition of a new school and supermarket provide a focal point for the Wirraway Precinct and its family-friendly community.
