Interim mandatory built form controls and policy changes have been introduced to encourage employment uses, dwelling diversity and affordable housing in Fishermans Bend while permanent controls are being developed by the Fishermans Bend Taskforce.

The intention for the guidelines is to improve building and street amenity, which will lead to improvements in building design and streetscape. These guidelines provide stronger guidance on the type and scale of development that is expected in Fishermans Bend and address development context, site layout, building design, microclimate, public space and landscape, transport and access, sustainability and infrastructure.
