Community Consultation Committee

The range of health services available at the hospital will be tailored for Fishermans Bend, all aimed at managing health needs locally.

A Community Consultation Committee will provide a forum for members of the local community affected by the project to participate in its planning and development through open dialogue and consultation.

The Community Consultation Committee will include representatives from key organisations such as local councils, health service providers and the local community.

An Expression of Interest process to be a part of the Community Consultation Committees closed on 23 April 2019.

Selection process

Applications for the consultative committee have now closed. An independent recruiter is reviewing the responses and will use a random and stratified approach to match the demographics and key perspectives of the local community. This process aligns with the ethics and values of best practice engagement and the Department of Health and Human Services external website Public Participation Framework which states the need to be genuine and inclusive.

Forty four applications were received for the Fishermans Bend Community Hospital CCC. Due to the high number of applications, applicants will now be notified and appointed to the committee by mid-year.
